How does therapy work?
Therapy is a very personal experience. Often times this is the one place that you are most vulnerable therefore it is important that you feel comfortable with whomever you work with.
I see this as a collaborative process whereby we take a look at your experiences, how this is impacting you and possibly those around you, and determine the way forward. I seek to find the strengths in all my clients and use these strengths to the find the answers that best suit you.
Change is hard and people usually seek therapy when they are not happy with something in themselves or their lives. Therapy often requires a change of some sort. Change your thoughts. Change your behaviour. Therapy often requires change on your part and making choices that you have not been ready to make just yet. With support, you may find this process much easier. Having a “therapy buddy” along the way always makes the journey better!
My style is one that ranges from serious and contemplative to humorous interlaced with belly laughs. Life can’t be taken seriously all the time and I ensure that my clients can always find the silver lining of their lives and even find joy in the darkest of moments.

In the spirit of Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, I am privileged to live and work here today and acknowledge that we are gathering from a variety of traditional and treaty territories including the Mississaugas of Scugog Island, First Nation, the Mississauga Peoples and the treaty territory of the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation. It is on these ancestral and treaty lands that we teach, learn and live.
